to European Rock music and World music in
Korea.
Si-Wan Records has established itself as one
of the world's leading Independent labels
representing Progressive Rock and World music.
Si-Wan Records owns Music Magazine called
as ¡°Art Rock Magazine¡± since 1992, Records
shops called Si-Wan Records Museum(from
1990 to 1992), Mythos(since 1993) for promoting
their distribution titles.
Si-Wan Records offers complete definitive
collections by such important European Groups
as Strawbs(UK), Spirogyra(UK), P.F.M.(Italy),
New Trolls(Italy), Eloy(Germany), Triumvirat(Germany),
Klaatu(Canada) along with lesser-known but
important Groups such as
Esperanto(Belgium), Enid(UK), Trubrot(Iceland),
Kaleidoscope(UK) and Sandrose(France)¡¦..
Si-Wan Records area of expertise is in the
re-issue of carefully engineered, important
historical and rare recordings dating from
the late
1960s to early 1970s.
Since 1989, Si-Wan Records has built up an
impressive catalogue of over 350 CD re-issues
and vinyl historical records. Specialized
in
European Progressive Rock music, Art Rock
and World music. Si-Wan Records has been devoted
to re-issuing the finest albums from
England, Italy, France, Germany and over the
world.
Cooperation with PolyGram(now owned by Universal
Music), Si-Wan Records released almost 100
titles.
Si-Wan¡¯s first release with PolyGram, Latte
E Miele(Early 70s Italian Group) debut album
¡°Passio Secundum Mattheum¡± was sold over
20,000 copies since 1991.
With Warner Music, Si-Wan sold over 38,000
copies of Caterina Caselli(Italian female
singer) ¡°Primavera¡±.

is Si-Wan?
Born in Seoul,
a serious record collector Si-Wan won the
grand prix for the first National University
DJ contest in 1981 with ¡°Musique Concrete¡±.
Since then he has become a FM legend, he
was the first professional DJ to introduce
European Rock (Progressive & Art Rock)
music into Korean audiences through the
major broadcastings.
He introduced Super Groups such as ¡°Pink
Floyd¡±, ¡°Genesis¡± ¡°EL & P¡± as well as
over hundreds of unknown Italian and the
other world Groups such as ¡°New Trolls¡±,
¡°Latte E Miele¡±, ¡°PFM¡±,
¡°Osanna¡±, ¡°Museo Rosenbach¡±, ¡°Wallenstein¡±,
¡°Omega¡±.
He helped introduce the nation to Progressive
Rock and Art Rock, but is perhaps most notorious
for giving his listeners in the early 1980s
with their first taste of Serious Music.
It was shocked in 20 years ago!
All DJs and producers introduced only American
pop oriented music at the time. But his
first major FM program was pioneer program
for underground and European Rock music.
In the studio, Si-Wan was just as willing
to break the rules.
He became the first DJ to play the longest
tracks(he once played only 2 songs in 60
minutes major program), experimental music,
music documentaries with dexterous sound
engineering in major broadcastings.
Since the early
1990s, creative DJ, producer Mr' Si-Wan
has sought out and introduced such hidden
great music treasures from the whole world
to Korean music market.
As DJ and producer, he voices over the famous
poems into the music with a various effects
and made a lot of music documentaries for
FM and video documentaries for the special
event.
Finally, his program won ¡°Experimental &
Spiritual Prize¡± from The Broadcasting Producer
Association of Korea in 1999.
With glowing critical acclaim and enthusiastic
Korean audiences,
he continues to seek out the most creative
traditional and international musicians.

he was traveling all over the world for
